PostSubject: Round 1: Shale vs Night Terror   Mon Oct 29, 2012 10:36 pm

After 20 long years of serving as a fighter against mere humans in the lone town of Rockwell Shale had almost forgotten how to fight. She often wondered if her six year old self would prove a match for what she was now. Always having been on the brink of life and death, pushing the bounds each time and feeling alive with chance to shirk off death. It was often hard to remember she had actually been one to face up against and kill dark elves but now a chance had been given to her. And as dangerous as the tournament before her seemed, it was nothing compared to the dangers of growing rusty and eventually having her enemies catch up.

Whatever this place or arena was, it appeared to be a glass dome, however she highly doubted it was actually made of glass. It seemed to contain a very wide expanse of terrain indeed being about a quarter mile from the center and what she soon noticed was that caves could be seen off in some spots. It appeared the dome was actually more of sphere and she suspected as much as there was sky above there were rocks and dirt below. Although miniature, there was a small mountain range of jagged rocks on the far end somewhat covering a little door that was built for the enemy to enter on the opposite side. To her left it seemed a third of the region was forested with trees. This would obviously be a strategic place to retreat to. In the middle of the stage was open field with grass no taller than an inch and to her right a small patch of desert which made up the smallest fraction of the terrain. She also noticed two small lakes. One at the far left where the forest and mountain terrain converged and another to the back right at the base of a waterfall which also came down from the mountains. The area nearest her and to the entrance which she would soon step through was a mucky swamp region where the sandy area of the desert met another body of water running from the forest. Looking at it now she could see even the forest had variety. She seemed to be in the tropical swamp section and to her side on the left of the swamp was deciduous trees while on the far left near the mountains it was conifer.

Her eyes glanced half a mile through the glass-like dome getting a distorted image of her opponent. He was a demon. It seemed she would finally have full use of her ultimate elven weapon. She looked at the gear she had brought deciding what she would take. Even with her grotesque strength she did not want to bring it all onto the field at once. For no matter how strong she was, if she carried too much it would hinder her flexibility. However she was going to use her Ring Glaive on this one. Yeah it was about time to show her parents what she could do. And of course she had invited them into the audience to watch her. Hopefully her outrageous father would not barge into the fight unwarranted, the last thing she needed was to get disqualified due to his hunger for battle.

Her breastplate and shoulder pauldrons were made of an iridium alloy as were her blacksmithed weapons. They all contained traces of vanadium, carbon, silicon as well as a decent percent of iron, silver and nickel. They did not posses magical properties however the handles were insulated with mica and padded with leather. Across her back she wore two sledgehammers crossing like an X, her belt had a special slot which held an enchanted whip she had claimed from her first encounter with dark-elves, she also wore a magic necklace and of course slid into her iridium alloy boot was an enchanted arrow. On the sides of her belt she had both a large claymore latched to her left hip and a battle axe on her right. With her teeth she carried a bag she would set down once inside, it had 12 aluminum cans with hidden pressurized chemical contents inside. Last and by no means whatsoever least of her weapons, she hauled the massive 4 holed cleaver with her hands. It's weight was actually more than her own. Flying a couple feet above her was a red, a blue, and a purple pixie. And the last thing she brought was a small baggy with 12 bite sized pieces of magical mushroom, 2 for each color of the rainbow.

Sure she packed a lot, but when you don't have that many powers it helps to be prepared for as many situations as you can. Her adaptability was her greatest gift. And sure her freak genetics that prevented viruses extended her life and gave her freak durability and control over plants was also cool too.

Despite liking to talk she was rather silent she had nothing to tell her opponent, and when the door lifted up and she entered the region she immediately threw the cans into the gunky water of the marsh and unleashed her belt taking out the whip and letting it drop into the swampy sludge letting them sink into the mud. Motioning the algea to carry it off to the forested region to her left as she sprinted forward diving into the mud and covering her body with slime. Then getting back up hoping to get to the mountain area where she was most comfortable fighting before he could catch her out in the open. Demons were notorious for being able to see in the infrared range and with her body temperature being a minium of 116 degrees she guessed she would stick out like an eyesore, but with the mud her heat signature would be next to nothing.

"Evad quosh mede calp. Bead nomb bea yat, don makete." Shale then looked at the purple pixie. "Bosh." Immediately the red and the blue took off into the forested region to not be seen. The pixies looked identical other than their color. The three inch tall purple female set off to the right and disappeared underground going into a cave entrance.

She was now halfway across the stage, her sprint was dead fast and it was time to gauge the situation based on what her opponent was doing. Her elven ears and eyes giving him no chance to ever land a sneak attack or catch her off guard. The elf fruit she just eaten allowing her to expend an enormous amount of energy for the entire tournament. She would never be tired.

If Night Terror could see her clothes before she dunked them in mud, they would appear as a green cotton shirt, brown deer skin shorts, a sliver leaf breastplate-pauldron combo piece and a hidden necklace underneath and of course her mufti-plated flexible boots.

over a thousand years of fighting he used people to be his host as he used them to fight and kills people to collect and devour soul using a vicious pirate of the seven sea's named Cervantes de Leon and possessing a young knight by the name of Siegfried Schtauffen the memories of those he had defeated in battle were crystallized in his memories. he fought elf by the name of scheherazade though it was easy she at least tried to put up a fight. this time he was going to test his strength against a half elf by the name of shale she seemed like a strong opponent so it was time for a fight to see who was strongest due to his bulky armor and appearance it looked like he his movement speed was going to be sluggish but this was only slightly true his speed while attacking was a whole different story. his glowing eyes looked at his opponent as she was beginning to cover herself in mud his goal was to become stronger and to improve his skills the memories of his former self Nightmare. her cleaver seems twice the size of his grotesque looking cursed sword but it seemed to looked twice as heavy then his sword Soul Edge. he would also have to look out for the small battle axe and the claymore. his sword was in it's complete and strongest form due to the ability to shapeshift but once the symbol of destruction he was now called as the unprecedented catastrophe.

his armor was a combination of armor and bone his fiery wings allowed him the ability to fly but that wasn't the extent of his abilities he has the ability to stomp on the ground and cause a slight quake to stumble the enemy giving him the advantage for a chance to land a powerful attack. he could swing his sword throwing a wave of energy from the blade as well as releasing a large soul wave able to cover short to mid range of the blast. lastly he can crush his opponents by drawing them in with crushing gravity by drawing in his fiery wings with a small space of distorted gravity and firing out eye beam projectiles and flying and ramming into his opponent.

he had nothing to say to his opponent other than letting out a a loud volcanic sounding growl. as he was nearing the center of the stage he was starting to run as his speed picked up his swing speed of his sword would become faster and stronger. he had already had a feeding of souls before coming to the the arena.

Shale found it rather strange the demon was running rather than flying, but no matter, she thought, he had come directly too her appearing to judge her as an elf and suspecting melee combat was his best option. Since he was foolish enough to stay on the ground, she would send out two dozen vines spread out mostly behind and in front of the demon. They would travel at around 40mph coming from different angles and heading upwards to ensnare any ankle, leg, wrist, or arm they could grab, perhaps even wrestle for his sword. Any that missed or were cut would continue to grow after him as well as form a bit of a wall to get in his way. Most of all they would simply outnumber him forcing him to choose which ones to crush.

Four low from the front, four high from the front, four low from the back, three mid height from the back, two mid height from the right, one high from the left and six that simply grew straight up a bit in front of where they would collide. Despite the insane of amount of mental control it took to independently move each vine, this did not seem to hinder her concentration or waver her willpower. All these vines would be weak, as she was choosing to be conservative with the life-force she poured into them, rendering them into existence at less than two inches in diameter and while a single one might far exceed a human's ability to escape they could be snapped by the demon's gruesome strength. However two or three would be enough to stop all his momentum and only one would be needed to spin an object of his weight out of control even if it snapped in the process. Letting them break wasn't Shale's intention, the vines were loose with slack and with the intention that any that caught him would immediately be selected to thicken to three maybe six inches.

At the same time six massive seven inch thick vines would appear around Shale as she lobbed her Ring Glaive at the enemy attempting to meet his attack directly. The vines would chase the sword, their heads looped through the holes.

It was probably somewhat obvious the enemy would wisely judge that she was strong based on the size of her weapon, but it was unlikely that he would know to just what extent, as that silvery metal looked just like steel. For its size, the iridium alloy was actually three times heavier than steel. The crushing force of her attack would probably come as an unwelcome surprise. Before the sword could travel the forty feet two vines would also boost her already massive jump letting her land upon the handle of her sword and surf it like a siege ram into her opponent, her axe and claymore drawn for action.

as he was continuing to run he begane to notice vines were latching onto him this was most unexpected he had to think fast as they were beginning to slow him down he forced his legs and arms to break free of the vines. the force he was applying to the vines would snap the vines like a twig giving him the chance to jump and become airborn if this failed he would stay grounded. his forcful strength managed to snap the vines he jumped up in the air and became airborn the demon knight was gathering energy and fired eye beam projectiles at shale if this hit it would know shale off of the ringed glaive if this missed he would land and meet the attack head on and try to push his opponent back. soul edge wasn't an ordinary sword it was cursed and able to shape-shift into different weapons and night terror himself has the ability to go back into the cursed to possess another vessel to his liking.

his strength rivaled his opponents so he couldn't back down not now or ever he had to figure out her weak points. using magic wasn't really his fighting style brute force and his powers for fighting and flying so he he could use this to his advantage but the depended if his opponent could reach him or not. if his opponent shot a rock or arrow he would be shot down from the sky until he can find another chance to strike.

It seems the vines had caught him off guard with good timing, Shale thickened the vines immediately but the demon snapped them before they became too overwhelming. Since he was slowed down she was getting near the target and just before she could ram into him, Night Terror leapt up. This was not too surprising considering it was the only logical direction to break free and was also exactly what she wanted. So with the vines directing the Ring Glaive upwards to meet him she was able to smash sword against giant cleaver.

An instant before the massive collision, she kicked off the cleaver adding even more additional force to the impact while simultaneously lifting her body up just enough to clear his head by a foot. Holding the blades of her axe and claymore out to the sides, her arms spreadeagled like a bird, she let her sailing momentum carry her forward allowing the blades pass through the fiery stems of his wings. The weight of the ringed cleaver plowed into him like a freight train he would be required to block it or be crushed even with armor. This meant his arms would be busy and she was safe from worry of being attacked.

She wasn't prepared for eye-beams however. It wasn't clear if with the jarring collision that the demon would be able to aim well but it seems he intended to strike her from even before the impact and had already built up the fiery plasma. She was struck in her right boob trailing to her shoulder most of which was armored. The mud was a surprisingly epic sponge to take the heat, far better than any armor could have hoped to have been. Since the time in which the lasers had a chance to hit her was only an instant they didn't have enough time to do more than dry off a small patch into caked mud, after which she was safely behind a normal neck's flexible range (especially one that would probably be more concerned with what was in front of him). This wasn't the only thing the mud did though. From her own muddy shield sprouted a vine that trailed her movement like a lasso headed for his throat.

Now came the big guns. Her reasoning was that since the wings could support his weight there was in fact some form of structure to them and if so they could be cut. It might might not be the case but it was a gamble she took because she was intending to land behind him anyways. Whether or not the flame wings would simply re-ignite or were gone for good did not matter as long as they were disabled at least for an instant. The Ring Glaive still controlled by the vines would press forward growing multiple vines into the soil like anchors trying to push the massive metal wedge down on him until his back was smashed into the soil. The vine she had sent at his neck would also help in doing this. If he could not fly he would be at the mercy of the vines and gravity to choose his path.

While this was happening something from under the earth had been making its way carried amongst tunneling roots. It couldn't keep up with her at first, but with this little extra time delay it now had the chance to catch up. It was in fact something she dropped in the mud earlier. Two more flimsy high-speed vines shot out of the ground on her right and left reaching up to wrap around his body but they were different.

Sitting in the area for spectators were four individuals. These four were good friends, but they had mixed feelings about what they were seeing. A raven haired woman folded her arms and sighed.

"I can't believe I let you talk me into coming here." Sheena said in an annoyed tone.

The red haired male sitting next to her chuckled and put an arm around her shoulder.

"Of course you did, Jubblies! Who could pass up a date like this?" Zelos said with a wink.

Sheena narrowed her brown eyes at the "Idiot Chosen" and gripped his hand rather hard before pulling it off of her shoulder, making sure to listen to his pained squeal.

"This is not a date! And if you touch me like that again, I'll break it." She threatened.

"So violent!" Zelos remarked, rubbing his right wrist. "But even you have to admit that this is quite an amazing venue. We need to get stuff like this in Meltokio!" He said, motioning to the huge screens that had impressed him so much.

Sheena looked up at the screens and nodded.

"I won't say this often, but you're right, Zelos. This is some impressive technology." She admitted.

To Sheena's right was a young man in red. He watched the fight with eyes slightly narrowed.

"That sword again... So it's still around." Lloyd thought.

A blonde girl sitting on Lloyd's right looked at him with a concerned expression.

"Lloyd? Are you concerned about that big monster too?" Asked Colette.

Lloyd looked back at Colette with a small frown.

"A little. That thing is dangerous. I hope that woman doesn't get her soul eaten..." He replied before looking back at the screen. Colette did as well.

"I dunno, Bud. Looks like that woman's holding her own against that nasty looking thing." Zelos commented.

"For now, anyway." Sheena added.

"Oooooh? I thought you weren't interested in this, Jubblies~" Zelos said slyly.

"SHHHHH!" Sheena loudly shushed the Tethe'allan Chosen.

Zelos simply shrugged, shaking his head and returned his attention to the fight that raged on.

After being rammed by the massive glaive his aim when firing the eye beams messed up his aim however it did hit in one of the most unexpected place right in her boob he was aiming for her torso or her arm so that she could not dual wield her claymore and her axe however this was a failure since his eye beam hit her in the boob Night Terror was too busy to notice the vines grappling to his neck he was more focused on blocking the ringed glaive but at the same time he was gathering energy. this would lead to a soul wave which was like a powerful explosion and was an omni directional attack and could counter any attack from any direction and since the vines were so close to him the the deadly soul wave would free him of the vines so he would be able to fly to get an advantage but it would also snap the vines around the ring glaive causing the heavy weapon to fall to the ground and knocking back his opponent if successful. since his cursed sword was stronger then any other blade but the glaive felt like a run away train about to come into a collision course with a mountain the the demon and his sword trying to stop it. It was starting to become difficult luckily he finished gathering energy so he drew in his wings and he released the energy into a deadly soul wave if in succession it would knock back shale from where she was currently attacking and send the cleaver to the ground. he would no longer be grounded by the vines since they could snap like a twig once the vines have snapped he would jump up in the air and take flight if his opponent tried to cut off one of his wings they would fail because his wings had no bones in them causing the weapon to pass right through. once he was flying he would gather more energy to fire eye beams at his opponent this time he aimed for her torso if the hit it would be more like a cannon ball that could punch a hole in a castle or a wrecking ball that can destroy a statue made of stone. this wasn't just a battle it was a battle to become stronger if he won this match he would move on to face another opponent if he lost he would simply train harder since he had no need to feed on more souls. it was true that his opponent was indeed strong he has learned this when fighting more humans that trained to their absolute limit's.

PostSubject: Re: Round 1: Shale vs Night Terror   Sun Dec 23, 2012 3:35 pm

Shale would not risk using her best weapon with a 'maybe it might hit'. Having her sword and axe simply pass through the wings she was disappointed to find that her weapons hadn't the spiritual binding they needed to cut that spiritual fire; this was surprising considering they possessed both silver and elven silver. The vines holding the ring glave had snapped from the pressure and some mild burns, however being that they were seven inches thick they were not totally ruined nor did such an omni directional push have much affect on such a loose material that had flexibility. Some of the vines held the Glaive that was mostly thrown back some.

Now that Shale knew about the eye beams she knew this fight would have to be one of stealth and tactic since she could not use her superior melee skills against an opponent with superior magical abilities. As if only to prove her point he was charging up his eyes again this time taking more time to make it a stronger blast. Below Shale's feet roots began to part the soil and she dropped down into a hole more quickly than these eye beams could reach that level of power.

The two different vines that were special went limp and fell to the ground as Shale no longer needed them right now.

In mere seconds the weakened and snapped vines holding her cleaver regrew not even letting it hit the ground. Giving one massive whip the vines that held the heavy weapon bonded together into a single massive whip and sent the sword careening like a twirling Frisbee into the forested area to land in an oak with a massive thud that send acorns free from the shivering tree.

Little did Shale know, but when she was down in the underground she discovered the area was not as she expected in solid dirt but that their were tunnels running through the whole area. Perhaps the arena was prepared for all types of combat. This worked well to her advantage and she began to run through a pass underground slightly to the northwest region of the dome.

"Emyae ebash; dlorou mack dea in," her voice echoed silently from underground.

"Shema xiski" the fragile purple pixie whispered back.

So they were connected thought Shale, this was excellent. Soon she saw the light of her glowing friend and could see in the darkness. Shale extended holes into the plants her other two pixies hid and they traveled down those plants and into the rootworks that lead to the gave. The pixie Shale needed was her blue one. Silently Shale emerged around the forested waterfall region of the dome making not a single sound as her immensely accurate ears followed her opponent's every move. She waited for an opportunity that his back was turned then using a bow and arrow she had grown from wood fired an arrow at his back. Before the arrow would even silently whistle towards the target with elven accuracy she was back in her caves like a coward moving to another frustrating position leaving no trace of where she'd come from next as she headed east.

If the arrow connected a hit Shale would hear it. She was abusing her powers of sensory and stealth. When it came hearing and eyesight no one could rival the elves.

Night terror was disappointed that the cleaver didn't fall to the ground but his gathered energy was released into a massive eye beam sadly it missed he then noticed that his opponent was missing. he then landed onto the ground to search for her he then noticed a hole small enough for her to fit in due to the demon knight's size he couldn't even fit his body into the hole but he began to wonder if there were any tunnels in this arena if there were this would serve as a disadvantage. he the realized something he can use his powers to cause slight quakes just from stomping on the ground he raised for right foot and the slammed it into the ground this attack was used as a lower attack mainly to stagger his opponent so that he can take advantage on his opponent that was open for and attack and lay a powerful strike if this stomp was successful his opponent would be able to feel the quake from in the tunnels or at least block off her next exit to delay her from making another surprise attack for a bit, little did night terror know that his opponent fired an arrow to his back. it was too late by the time he had realized it, he felt an something on his his back due to his bulky armor he could hardly see what hit him until he noticed that it was and arrow that hit him. his armor protected him from the arrow however the bad thing was that the arrow had lodged itself on the back of his armor he tried to reach to the back of his armor to pull out the arrow his long claws made it possible to to tug the the arrow until it became loose, this left him open for another attack however, if he didn't remove the arrow before it was to late his opponent would have the upper hand and take advantage of the distracted demon.

Shale had successfully landed the arrow and she heard it do so. Immediately she began growing slender vines from the wooden arrow under his armor plates. As quickly as she could they would spread. Being that she was underground and far away these vines would grow slower. Taking 4 to 5 seconds before completely covering his body and prying at the armor. In seven more seconds they would grow thick and hard enough to dig into his skin and start prying his metal plates off exposing his softer and likely bleeding flesh below.

The stomp came down but unless he was lucky the foot would land in the wrong place and not were the tunnel was. Considering how many trees were over Shale right now it was unlikely that he would know where to stomp and he would also have to get passed them. However Shale was continuing east and ready to open another hole in the ground.

1) If the demon was far:
She would fire another arrow and continue to go back into the tunnel.

2) If the demon was near:
He would hear a jingle from a trap she had sprung that failed earlier. Vines would shoot out of the earth but they had blue glowing veins. The blue pixie was absorbing Shale's plant life force and converting it into something that glowed blue. The property of these vines might surprise the demon but not as much as something else.

Night Terror's body was almost completely covered in vines luckily the vines wouldn't be able to cover his entire body thanks to his fiery wings it would burn through the vines causing them to fall off but since the vines was under his armor that was a different story. he had to figure a way to get the vines off of him suddenly he had an idea he could use his fiery wings so that the heat of the wings could free him from the vines in two ways, one ways were the fiery wings would cook the vines in a matter of seconds until they dried up causing them to weaken so he could break free, the second way was that the vines would catch on fire causing them to burn up and fall off as they turned to ash if this worked he would be free from the vines binding him and his armor will stay fused to his flesh, he would then be able to pull out the arrow that he managed to loosen. he wrapped his wings around himself and began to heat up the vines he could handle the heat of wrathful flames of hell itself. as he heated up the vines he though for a moment if shale was able to control plant life he could make it come to a grinding halt. his sword released a shock wave of hellfire was released in a giant circular pattern quickly spread twenty feet in all directions covering the whole area in scorching hot flames making it impossible for any more plant life to grow and killing any plant life in the area the wrathful flames would spread in every five minutes covering a few feet as time passed. if his opponent didn't come out soon the whole battlefield will be covered in dead and burning plants giving him the upper hand forcing his opponent to fight him up close.
