Shale thought the world was blank at first only rainbows and clouds, but there was more. Even if it was not necessary she crawled low on the ground slithering through the softer layer of the cloud. Funshine Bear was her next target. It's ID was called out by its friends, though the name mattered little compared to the fact that it wasn't in her stomach undergoing the digestion process. As the bear jollily tossed up a colorful beach ball, Shale sprinted with inhuman ferocity and slammed her back up against a building.

Like a deadly assassin she loomed on the other side of the wall while her stomach reached an internal pressure of 90 pounds per square inch. Nearly twice that of a car tire. One would never even know she had ate with how utterly smashed the bears became after she consumed them. Lightning fast enzymes and strong acid was tearing the bears down and sending their nutrients into her bloodstream to feed her greedy cells. She could feel the warm healing sensation of her blood. It made her feel aggressive, strong, happy, angry, it was the opposite of sadness. She was awake alive and this growing fervor showed in her appetite.

Two lightning quick strides tore holes in the clouds as Shale dashed and captured the bear scooping it up and darting off to a tree before the ball could even land. Two curious bears gazed over not quite sure what they were supposed to have seen but knowing something changed. Shale cupped her hand over the bear's mouth. She flexed her knuckles so that her fingers were bent tightly to half their length then jammed their hard tips behind the bear's neck into the spine. It was a precision attack meant to sever connection to the brain stem.

The bear proved to be too light weight to kill as the attack mainly pushed its body though after lining it up with the tree she simply muscled her knuckles through the back of its neck with a crunch. Taking command of the tree she hid herself inside along with her prey. When she came out of the tree, the Funshine bear did not.

Wish Bear and Love-A-Lot Bear were playing some game together. Some hand pattern Shale could care less about. After eating these two bears she'd need a break. She sunk down into the tree making its roots dig through this patch of soil. It made little sense to her how this world merged clouds and dirt so seamlessly.

She threw two daggers. Her aim was impeccable as her race seemed to have unquestionable precision. Each dagger landed in the neck cutting off the wind to speak.

Now Shale dropped down into the roots that opened up like tremors to swallow the bears. Two hands could be seen emerging from those holes and the gasping bears were dragged below into the darkness where they were eaten one by one.

Shale rested for a bit. She was full for the moment. Wish Bear had wished for Love-A-Lot Bear to escape this pain.

The wish came true.

After awaking from her slumber she found good luck bear picking clovers. It was time for the clovers to pick back. What started with a mere attempt at picking a sort clover turned into picking a long string.

The green bear turned curiously to see that the string grew with the motion of his hand as if tugging yarn from the ground. Then something the bear had nothing to do with occurred. More clovers extended from the ground. They began to slither up the matching color fur. Even sprouting the same telltale for leaf pattern as his shamrock. They began tightening and constricting, soon the pitiful bear realized the lucky charm he celebrated was going to be the single factor towards ensnaring his fate.

Shale strolled out into the open. It was time to begin eating the bear, and she started with his face. Eating the beat down to his core until nothing remained but fur and bloody drops on the grass.

It was just another day, just another adventure pushing the acceptable bounds of fate jumping worlds to a land that was not of her own.

The telltale red staff peered through the portal and as Shale stepped through. She almost stopped herself until she noticed her weight was being supported. She had grown a vine into the portal and was holding it in a near panic attack. She had just stepped on a cloud and not sunk through. It always was weird getting used to new physics.

Relaxing a bit, the relentless tyrant completed her partial journey to a new world and stepped onto the cloud letting the ripped liquid window between dimensions close.

Shale sniffed the air, it was full of moisture and sunshine. More importantly, the rumors she'd heard were true: colorful bears could be seen playing on clouds and dancing gayly as they bumbled across rainbows.

A small bear, two feet tall at the very tallest, came up to her immediately to offer a hug and friendship. It's fur was a bright and colorful honey hue and it was only the first bear of this mufti colored plethora. Two sunflowers crossed in front of its white fur belly.

"Hello, I'm Friend Bear what's-"

Shale interrupted its speech by lifting the bear into her arms in the same manner as a hug. She then sat down and huddled protectively over it. This was love, but not in anyway the type to be expected. After giggling from the seemly playful action, the bear quickly realized this was no giggling matter, nor friend.

Shale applied pressure to the weak creature's skull. It snapped but most of the contents stayed neatly inside as she did not squeeze them out like jelly. Next obstacle was the collar bones,the spine, the legs, then the arms. Eventually the corpse's bones were all splintered into relatively small bits and the bear's soft body was in a somewhat jello state. Shale began jamming the leg in her mouth. Slowly but surely she packed the whole bear down, swallowing its shapeless form, bone fragments and all in one gagging gulp to make a python proud. Without any bones it put up no fight in being forced into her tiny mouth with the amount of pressure she applied. In fact despite the size of the bear being twice as fat as she was even though it was only on third her height, it didn't seem to bulge out her gut. Her stomach crushed it like a trash compactor, the powerful muscles scrunching the Friendship Bear down to the size of a baseball.

She was still hungry.

Getting to the top she took a surfer's stance and glided the way down before trumpeting onto the clouds to catch her balance. In a few strides she jumped up lifting her mammoth metal boots into the air along with her super dense body and armor. Reaching the apex of her forward leaning jump she curled her head down tucked her legs and cocked her elbows behind her to get enough spinning momentum to pull off a high rising front flip. Opening out of the tuck slowed her spin and just in time for her metal leading heals to drive down into the petite shoulders of the hopeless bear.

Due to their hardness, her heals crushed all the bones they met in the petite bear's frame. The shoulders shattered the upper half of the ribs collapsed and sliced into the lungs and before the bear could even try to gasp for air its view was disoriented only managing to see its leg enter a mouth with a sickening crunch. Each crunch continued one after another ignoring the bear's bones as if they were playdough. Soon it wasn't much longer before the bear could see its life and body fading before its eyes. It was being eaten so quickly it hadn't even had time to die.

How could the world be so cruel? How could this be happening to me? What have I ever done to earn this sort of suffering? These thoughts fell on deaf ears. The bear began to blink, the pain was staring to go away into black dizziness. One last time it closed its eyes.

They never opened again.

After having skinned a bear alive it was time for a new invention, ever creative Shale did not simply want to try the same drab and boring approach as she continued her field day, gathering up the bounty of protein and nutrients these helpless forms had to offer.

None of the bears saw her and she left nearly no evidence as she consumed each one completely. The sun would dry up the blood that grass itself did not work to hide. Tender-Heart Bear, it was next in line.

Shale did not even try to hide as she approached clearly in the open and drew out her five foot long claymore. The two spiked wedges that served as a mini hilt along the blade glistened in the sunlight.

The honey colored bear with a bright red heart on its belly attached its adorable puffy paws to its face and shook its head profusely in an exaggerated gasp. Chubby steps hurriedly stumbled at a quick pace for desperate escape. Unfortunately being so stubby the plump feet offered little use in each stride gaining more that a few inches at a time even if it pulled off several each second. At a hungry walking pace the half elf standing only an inch below a towering 6 feet from the bear followed in lengthy stride. The sun was at her back and her shadow could be seen casting on the ground never letting the desperate bear gain a step of advantage.

It huffed and puffed but never gave up. This was its life at stake. It had to survive. With all the determination in his plump little heart he pushed himself to go faster than ever before. But it was no use, Shale stayed in pace enjoying the little bear suffer. She had to take a quick step as it had actually forced her out of her walking stride a few times at the point of its last hurrah. It was getting slow now, its cardio failing and endurance ending. The growing shadow loomed ever more heavily upon the bear's back until a heartless blade peirced out its belly.

Endless pain, such cruel, such unreal, such unimaginable pain! How can this even be real? The pain was beyond compare to anything the bear had ever felt. It squirmed and bit down its teeth, even trying to breath was difficult. there wasn't even a natural reaction to this, the body was almost left confused and unsure what to do, eventually screams, yes nu-relenting squeals of pain erupted from the bear's mouth. It couldn't be true, they didn't even sound to the bear as if they were his own. A purely reactive response that there was no control over.

The ground below moved and the bear felt more pain, as if that was even possible, the steel of the sword was rubbing against his belly as it tilted up and he slid down the blade towards the hilt. Now looking at the sky pain could be felt in the tail. Wait!? There was no tail. It was being: Bitten?! Off!? Oh god, it was being bitten off. The sword turned and the bear's ribs resting on the blade groaned as he was now facing his killer. Some girl, he could not seem to keep her in memory even for the time he looked at her for the pain was overwhelming and clouding focus. The sword moved closer and her mouth approached, a strip of flesh was torn from his belly.

Oh god, what cruelty! the poor creature thought.

Bite by bite Shale enjoyed the squirming shush-ka-bob. It was somewhat annoying when the pieces of meat she chose to pluck off moved away offering her a less filling mouthful, but soon enough the bear stopped moving and each wholesome bite brought warmth and delight to Shale as she enjoyed the tender meat.

In fact this one had been the most 'Tender' of them all.
